For more than fifty years, Rebecca Henry Lowndes has been transposing the music of language into poems. The second of six children, she grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania surrounded by readers and talkers. Building on her high school education and the foundation embedded by several outstanding teachers, she has, through marriage, motherhood, and a meandering career in clerical support, pursued the autodidact’s path through literature.
