You’ll be able to audition to find just the right voice. If you have a specific narrator you’d like to work with or want multiple narrators, please indicate it on the form.
– Casting: you will be offered a selection of 3–8 narrators based on your preference;
– Text recording: the narrator of your choice will record your book after a review of the first 15 minutes;
– Review for corrections: the author will review the file and make note of changes;
– Studio mastering: after recording is approved, a studio engineer will ensure that your text meets the technical specifications required by audiobook distributors;
– Cover design: book cover design adapted to meet audiobook file requirements;
– Distribution: the audiobook will be available for sale through all major retailers.
Typically, a project takes 2 – 3 months from the production questionnaire submission. Various factors can influence this timeframe, including the narrator’s availability, the book’s length, whether additional content is requested, and the time needed for reviews.
No, we will quote the price of your project based on your book and your request. You’ll receive a simple contract that stipulates deliverables and limitations (rounds of review, etc.)
A $48 annual distribution fee is requested after the first year.
Royalties are handled through the Luminare Press publishing account. We take a small percentage (20 percent) of the net for accounting and handling. Similarly to the distribution of printed books, retailers take 45 to 65 percent of the retail price. This means that, generally, an author can expect to receive about 25 percent of the retail price per title sold.
We’ll pay any royalties we’ve collected for you on a quarterly basis once you’ve accumulated $10.00 or more in any given monthly pay period.
Our distribution partners all have unique schedules for sending royalties to us. Some will pay us within 30 days of the previous month’s end; some will pay us 30 days after the previous quarter. Regardless we’ll send you any royalties we’ve collected in your name by the 15 of the month following the end of the quarter.
