Set in the early 1600s off the northeastern coast of Scotland and inspired by an old Orkney folktale, Storms Over Westray follows two young lovers, Janet and Benjamin, who long to learn more about the world beyond their small island.
The couple’s wishes are realized—at much peril to themselves—when storms, war, and superstition drive them apart. Janet finds herself warding off the advances of a wealthy laird and the nasty gossip of neighbors while Benjamin is far afield in battle with the Duke of Buckingham in La Rochelle, France.
Will their love survive?
Will they find each other again?
What this author said about working with us...
I came to Luminaire Press, never having written a book before, let alone wanting to get it published! I was blown away by all the staff I worked with, editors, graphic designers, publication assistants, everyone! Their work was very high quality, and very creative. I wanted a particular photo for my front book cover. They not only found the right photo but then designed the cover to capture the title of the book as well. Everyone who has seen it just loves that front cover! I enjoyed working with all the staff there, they are efficient, professional, and very responsive. Janet Brew Mitchell
