Manuscript evaluation
One of our editors will review and evaluate your manuscript and provide comments and suggestions on how different levels could improve the book.
If developmental or line editing is needed, we’ll add them to the package.
Copy edit and proofread
After any changes to the manuscript, once the assessment is done, our editors will review your text, correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and word usage while preserving the meaning and voice of the original text, and will prepare the manuscript for the next stage of the publication process. The package also includes an additional reading of the typeset proof as a final check before publication.
Eye-catching, custom-designed cover
One of our professional book cover designers will create a beautiful, unique cover for your book. We’ll present you with three custom-designed concepts based on your input.
Professional interior formatting
Custom interior formatting will ensure that your book looks as good on the inside as it does on the outside. The interior fonts, typography, and layout will coordinate with your cover to achieve a smooth, cohesive look and feel for your book. The package includes formatting up to 70,000 words for standard and complex layout books.
Hardcover edition
We will create and publish your book in hardcover format, in addition to the paperback and e-book formats.
Back cover and author bio text review
Our copywriters will review your author bio and book description to ensure your book is interesting and appealing to your ideal readers.
ISBN and barcode
Luminare will provide an ISBN (international standard book number) and a compatible barcode for each product. Having both the barcode and ISBN on the back of your book ensures that your book is ready to be sold.
Pre-registration with the Library of Congress
The Library of Congress is a national catalog of print books and assigns a number that is used by librarians to discover and purchase books.
Formal Copyright Registration
We’ll register your book with the government to legally protect your work from copyright violations and infringements.
Registration with Bowker’s Book In Print
Registration optimizes book discovery across a wide range of book discoverability. Bowker provides bibliographic data so your titles are exposed to many facets of the book industry.
Set up for print-on-demand
Print-on-demand means that online retailers will always show books in stock. Customers will also be able to order through other online sites and bookstores, with delivery in a matter of days. Everything will be set up under your name and you’ll keep 100% of the royalties.
100% royalties to the author
You’ll retain all the rights and the royalties from your book sales. Luminare Press won’t take a cut of your profit.
Physical proof copy
Before your book is published, you’ll receive a printed copy for a final evaluation.
E-book preparation
We’ll convert and create e-book files that will be delivered as EPUB format. This allows you to sell an electronic version of your book on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and your own site. We will upload your files to Kindle Direct Publishing and link the e-book to the print book too.
Distribution through major retail outlets
Your book will be available through Ingram Content Group for distribution to major online retailers and bookstores (over 25,000 retail locations).
Preferential bookstore distribution and extended ebook distribution
We set up the title with two POD printers, KDP and IngramSpark, to optimize royalties for both Amazon and bookstores. With the extended e-book distribution, your title will be available in digital stores like Apple Books and Google Play Store.
Marketing and promotion
You’ll access a strategy consultation with our book marketing expert to define the best strategy to reach your author goals for the book.
Our book marketing foundation offers the tools and guidance you need to get your book off to a great start. This includes metadata and Amazon optimization, sell and media sheets, and e-book promotions to capture new readers. Premium author page on Luminare Press

Sallie is an editor, writer, and teacher. Before joining the team at Luminare Press, she served on the editorial staff at Wipf & Stock Publishers and was the assistant editor and publicist at Slant Books. Sallie is the former program coordinator for Writers in the Schools through Wordcrafters in Eugene. She has a BA in English from the University of Oregon, where she studied fiction in the Kidd Creative Writing Program.

- Is this for me?

Our Platinum Package is designed for authors who need assistance and guidance from start to finish with most of the work done by professionals. This package provides the same level of assistance and service you’d get from a traditional publisher while keeping full ownership, control of the project, and 100% of the royalties.
- What’s a Custom layout?

Any book that has a consistent text flow, uninterrupted by images, charts, worksheets, lists, subheads, quotes, and/or other unusual text elements, is considered to have a standard book layout. This includes most novels and memoirs. Quotes or datelines at the beginning of chapters, scene breaks, use of italics, and section pages don’t require a custom layout.
Business books, workbooks, family memoirs or yearbooks, and image-heavy books may require a custom layout. For those books, the formatting requires the creation and use of multiple styles for sections of text and/or images or graphics.With the Platinum Package, you don’t have to worry about this aspect as all types of layouts are included.
