Illustration & Publication Premium Package

An exclusive offer that brings authors from feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, and stuck, to being proud of a beautifully illustrated and published book that kids love and parents buy.

We know many authors are unsure where to find a trustworthy illustrator, an editor who gets their voice, or someone who can actually help publish without ruining their vision.

Some have gone through this before. The previous attempt left them with clunky illustrations, poor formatting, and the sinking feeling that the book deserved more.

Now, imagine sipping coffee as you receive a proof copy with vibrant, custom illustrations that match your story perfectly, and flipping through pages that feel polished, professional, and unmistakably yours.

Your name glows on the cover. Your story sings. And kids, parents, and teachers are loving it.

No more confusion, no more subpar results, no more hiding your book in embarrassment. Just confidence, control, and creative fulfillment.

To achieve that, we built a complete publishing package, designed specifically for children’s book authors. Whether you’re new or experienced, our service meets you where you are—then takes you all the way to a finished, bookstore-quality book.

Every part of the process is tailored to the children’s book author. We work with award-winning illustrators who actually listen. You’re not just assigned an artist—you collaborate until it’s right.

Chantelle and Burgen, I love your art! It’s incredible and I’m thrilled with how it turned out! I wish you could hear all the amazing words of praise that I hear about your illustrations… Kids see the cover from across the room and come running!

D. Hummel – Author of “The Barnyard Surprise”

It has been such a pleasure working with Ligia on my children’s book project Max The Rescue Dog, Max goes to The Farm. From the very beginning, she has brought not only her artistic talent but also a deep understanding of storytelling and how to bring characters to life in a meaningful way.

Featured Illustrators

Featured Illustrators

Chantelle and Burgen Thorne

Multi-award-winning professional illustrators and a power couple. They have a very extensive combined career history in many facets of advertising, design, and publishing.

Ligia Camolesi

Award-winning illustrator and book designer.
Drawing and stories have always been a special part of her life. She works with traditional techniques (watercolor, colored pencils, pastel, collage, papercutting) and digital.

Lauren Fantin

Graphic Designer and children’s book illustrator. She has illustrated Picture Books, Educational Books, and Chapter Books.
She adores creating characters that teach kids to be themselves. Her art is cozy, whimsy and magical as it can be.

I couldn’t be more thrilled with Chantelle and Burgen’s illustrations for “Finley”. I must admit that when I saw the final art, I cried tears of joy. It was everything I had hoped for and so much more.

Candace Spizziri – Author of “Finley A Moose on the Caboose” | Multi-award winner

Working with illustrator Lauren Fantin on this book has been so satisfying! She nailed the characters on the first try (I mean, the Llama’s striped shirt was exactly right!) and she captured the vision on every single page. She even put a few easter eggs into the illustrations for my kids to find. This was such a fun project, and she crushed it!

Katie Rasoul – Author of ”The Llama and the Balloon”

It has been such a pleasure working with Ligia Camolesi on my children’s book project “Max goes to the Farm”. From the very beginning, she has brought not only her artistic talent but also a deep understanding of storytelling and how to bring characters to life in a meaningful way.

Nicole Martinez Marks – Author of “Max goes to the Farm”

Chantelle and Burgen visualized my words with clever creativity… I’m beyond grateful for the exciting action that flies off each page.

Catherine Ciocchi – Author of “Science Matter and the Baseball Park” | Multi-award winner

The Publisher:
Luminare Press

With over fifteen years of experience in book publishing, the team at Luminare Press has helped hundreds of independent authors successfully publish their children’s picture books.
When working with us, you’ll access a team of professional book designers, publication specialists, and distribution and marketing experts who’ll support and guide you through the entire publishing journey.

Luminare Press made me a believer in hiring professionals to help with aspects like design, formatting, and publishing to get your indie book where it needs to be. I have edited, formatted, and published my own books, but I was never 100 percent confident in marketing those self-published titles. Now, with immense hands-on help from the staff at Luminare Press, I finally have a book that I feel proud of—cover to cover. I will not be self-publishing again without the help of Luminare Press.

Terah Van Dusen – Author of “Dreams of a Rocking Pony”

It was an absolute pleasure working with everyone at Luminare Press. The process from beginning to end—and even after the book was published—was clear, helpful, and timely. Each member of the staff offered a customer service mindset, and they were friendly and polite in all of their correspondence. They answered all of my questions, no matter how small, and conducted business in a way that made me feel that they had my best interests at heart. Thank you, Luminare Press!

Elana J. Weinstein – Author of “What Kind of Dog is That?”

Free consultation, no strings attached.

How It Works

  1. Consultation call – Free 15-minute call
It’s a complimentary call you can book right now. We use this call to talk about your project, evaluate what you may need, and see if Luminare would be a good publishing partner for you. It’s not a sales call, and you’ll gain a lot of knowledge.
  2. Illustration contract
The author/illustrator contract will be separate from Luminare Press’s package.
Initial kick-off with author, design team, and illustrators to discuss vision, manuscript, book size, and printing. All major illustration steps will be presented via Zoom and/or submitted as PDFs.
  3. Editing
A professional editor will review and copyedit your final manuscript.
  4. Manuscript preparation
We begin preparing your text for editing and layout as soon as you send us your final copy of the manuscript and we receive the final illustrations.
  5. Book preparation
This includes all the book design, such as interior formatting, assets review, metadata set-up, back cover text, author bio and photo, and more.
  6. Cover design
We create a beautiful, custom-designed book cover for your print and digital formats.
  7. ISBN, copyright, and Library of Congress
We register your book with Bowker Books In Print and the Library of Congress. You retain all rights and 100% of royalties and will be able to order your books directly from printing and distribution accounts. Basic account setup and ordering assistance are included in the packages.
  8. Marketing – Strategy call
You’ll get a marketing strategy consultation to help you develop your marketing plan so you can build an engaged audience, spread your message, and sell more books. You’ll also have access to promo items and services to start your marketing activities.
  9. Final review and proof copy
Before your book is published, you’ll receive a physical copy for a final evaluation.
  10. E-book creation
File conversion and e-book preparation. Files will be delivered as EPUB format, which allows you to sell on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and your own site.
  11. Distribution
Your book will be available for distribution through major online retailers and bookstores. Print-on-demand means that Amazon, for instance, will always show books in stock. Customers will also be able to order through bookstores, with delivery in a matter of days.

FAQ about the Premium Packages for Children’s Books

Is this for me?

This package is designed for authors who have a finished manuscript and want to work with professional book illustrators and publish their Children’s or Picture books in a professional and effective way.

If you already have illustrations or prefer to work independently with an illustrator, our boutique package may be the best option for you.

Are illustrations included in this package?

Yes, you will work with a professional, handpicked book illustrator that will create custom and unique illustratations for your book.

What if my book is longer than 24 pages?

No problem! The illustrator and our team will create and design all the pages and illustrations that are needed. The final page and illustration count is usually defined during storyboarding. At that point, we’ll charge any extra illustration at $200/illustration.

I’m still in the process of writing. Should I schedule a call?

We advise scheduling a call when the manuscript is at least ready for editing, you have all the imagery done, and you are ready to start the publishing process. If you are not quite there yet, we suggest starting with downloading our free eBook about self-publishing.
