I hope you like my children’s books. Remember to always believe in magic. By the way, my sister Judith Blocker is the amazing illustrator of both the cover of Sandin Saves the Forest and all the illustrations of The First Orca.

The First Orca tells the story of a young humpback whale, Borie, who transforms into the first orca whale. Borie lives with his pod in the ice floes around the Antarctic, but he doesn’t like being a filter-feeding whale. His mermaid friend Crystal uses her magic to change Borie into a toothed killer whale. Borie can hardly wait to have a meal of delicious fish. With Crystal’s help and his family and pod’s encouragement, Borie migrates north to form a new pod of orca whales.
