Between the Lines is the correspondence between best friends Anne and Sue, who were separated in 1989 when Sue and her family moved to Sicily, Italy. As wives and mothers of young children, the two women wrote each other letters specifically for an audience of one. The correspondence is a rich account of Sue and her family adjusting to life in Sicily, while Anne and her family navigate life in their small southern hometown on the other side of the globe. Both women share the highs and lows of raising children and finding their own identities while keeping the home fires burning. These letters reveal the importance of the human connection, the need to be understood, and the meaning of true friendship.

What this author said about working with us...

It is very exciting to see our published memoir, Between the Lines:You, Me and Sicily, for sale – the result of a challenging and fun creative endeavor. We did not include a list of thank-yous in our book because, well, it was basically just the two of us stumbling through the book writing process. That is to say, before Luminare Press brought it all together for us, far exceeding our expectations for an aesthetically beautiful book. From our first zoom meeting with Patricia to seeing our book for sale on Amazon, the Luminare Press staff was superlative. Their encouragement, positivity, expertise, creativity, efficiency, patience, spot-on advice and professionalism made novices like us feel as if we knew what we were doing...and were their favorite clients. From beginning to end, we found Luminare Press approachable, straightforward and very user-friendly and recommend them enthusiastically for anyone pursuing self-publishing.
